Building ride-through worlds for water slides and pools

Company: Ballast Technologies · 2020–2021
Responsibilities: World building in Unity, storyboarding, narrative design, beat mapping

Overview

Ballast makes waterproof VR for waterparks. Guests wear it riding down a water slide or floating face-down in a pool, so the environments inside the headset carry the ride's story.

I built the worlds in Unity around a track every guest would follow, like designing a dark ride. I storyboarded, wrote the storylines and mapped each experience beat by beat, then pitched and built two of my own: Ocean II and Dragon.
